Leota Myrtle Hohn
July 22, 1913 to March 20, 2000

Leota Myrtle Hohn, 86, of Nevada, died from complications after surgery on Monday, March 20, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames.

She was born July 22, 1913, in the Richland Township of Story County to John and Sophia (Nelson) Ingerson. She was a graduate of Shipley High School. She married Hans B. Hohn on Jan. 2, 1933, in Bethany, Mo. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the Shipley and Nevada area. She enjoyed flower gardening and her interest was her family, friends and neighbors.

Survivors include three sons,Richard Hohn of Lake Elisnore, Calif., Jerry Hohn of Ankeny and Steven Hohn of Nevada; three daughters, Mary Munson of Clancy, Mont., Helen Opperman of Nevada and Sharon Adams of Maxwell; a niece, Pauline Korell of Nevada and several nieces out of state; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and several special cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Hans B. Hohn on April 19, 1985; a grandchild; five brothers; six sisters; and her special son and partner, Dean Griffith on July 26, 1999.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 22, at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
