Connie Jo Cory, 68, of Maxwell, died Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Connie was born August 23, 1945 at Ames, Iowa, the daughter of Edward L. “Dale” and Lois A. (Robertson) Pyle. She graduated from Maxwell High School in 1963. Connie was united in marriage to Carl D. Cory on May 20, 1967 at the Maxwell Presbyterian Church. She had worked at the Maxwell Medical Clinic for many years as the receptionist. Connie was a member of the Maxwell Presbyterian Church, the Ladies Coffee Club, and a lifetime member of the Maxwell V.F.W. Axillary. Connie loved to read, shop and visit with her many friends. She loved her grandchildren and time with friends.

Connie is survived by her husband, Carl, of Maxwell; her son: Matthew Cory (Michelle Silvey) of Maxwell; her daughter: Melissa Cory of Maxwell; two grandchildren: Austin Cory, Miranda Cory; and her sister: Michelle Cairns (Tim Hinderks) of Maxwell.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. The Funeral Service will follow visitation and begin at 7:00 PM Tuesday. Cremation will follow the service.

Inurnment will be at a later date in the Woodland Cemetery at Iowa Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Connie Jo Cory Memorial Fund.
