Persis R. Stoneberg, age 90, of Winona, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014, at St. Anne Extended Healthcare in Winona.

Persis was born on July 21, 1923, the daughter of Foster and Phyllis Letts. She was united in marriage with William Stoneberg; he preceded her in death in 1971.

She will be remembered for her love of playing Bridge, going on bus trips, and volunteering at the Winona County Historical Society and with the Winona Health Auxiliary.

Persis is lovingly survived by her sons: Stephen Stoneberg, Asheville, NC; Ted (Teresa) Stoneberg, Arcadia, WI; William Stoneberg, Florida; and Donald (Marsha) Stoneberg, Burlington, IA; grandchildren: Amanda (Mike) Slaggie, Winona; Emma Stoneberg, Asheville, NC; William (Lisa) Stoneberg, Milwaukee, WI; Tami (Mike) Hohmann, Durand, WI; Joseph (Lynn) Stoneberg, Woodbury, MN; Jill (Pedro) Garcia, San Francisco, CA; and Todd Stoneberg, Breckenridge, CO; great-grandchildren: Andrew, Joshua, Alexandria, Avery, Nicholas, Alex, and Jack; nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one sister; and one brother.

Visitation will be held at the Watkowski-Mulyck Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, from 11 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1 PM. Pastor Tom Schoen will officiate.

Visitation will also be held at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell, IA, on Thursday, July 10, 2014, from 5 PM until 7 PM.

A graveside and committal service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 11, 2014, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Collins, IA
