Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.
Michele Terese Brown was born November 22, 1953 to Ezra and Lois (Casey) Brown in Boone, Iowa. As the youngest of their five children, Michele was the spark that gave a bright light to her family. Michele will be missed by her three children, James (Lynda) Wilhite, of Ames, Carrie (Dan) Kamm, of Mason City and Jessica (Jay) Ertl, of Fort Dodge; and two sisters, Janice (Wayne) Platt, of Columbia, MO and Rita (Carroll) Vis, of Eldridge. The greatest joy in her life was her family, especially her seven grandchildren, Dylan, Danny, Nate, Emma, JJ, Loie and Casey.
Michele was a graduate of Boone High School. She ambitiously started a family and owned her own dance studio right out of high school. Dancing was her passion, one that she kept her entire life. Michele later attended DMACC’s School of Nursing, receiving her RN degree. Her genuine, caring personality allowed her to excel in the field of nursing. She worked for many years at McFarland Clinic in Ames, worked briefly at On With Life in Ankeny, and retired from Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She earned her CRRN credentials, as she was continually working towards being the best in her field. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with family at Lake of the Ozarks.
Michele was a friend to everyone with whom she came in contact. Meeting Michele, even for a brief time, left an impression. Her wit, charm and passion and most of all, sense of humor, always radiated from her.
Michele passed away peacefully at 60 years of age on Monday, July 7, 2014, after a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Raymond and Gregory; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family takes comfort in knowing that Michele has been received by her Heavenly Father, parents and brothers.
