JAMES WILLIAM CARY
James William Cary, 73, 1034 11th St., died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 1983, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23 at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada with Rev. Gehrald Riesen of the Central Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be at the Nevada Cemetery.
Cary was born to Hiram Huss and Ada Louise (Roberts) Cary on Jan. 18, 1910 in Centralia, Mo. He attended school at Morning Sun.
He was married to B. Verlee Wheeler on Aug. 13, 1932 in Monmouth, Ill. They moved to Nevada in 1963 from McCallsburg, where they had lived for the previous 17 years. He was a self-employed carpenter, and a member of the Central Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, B. Verlee; one daughter, Maureen Utter of Marshalltown; one brother, Henry Cary of Missouri; two sister, Lucille Drahaus of Muscatine and Ruth Porter of Danville; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two brothers and one sister.
The family will be at the Ryan Funeral Home Thursday evening, Sept. 23, from 7-9 p.m.
