Rites Are Held At E.U.B. Church For Donald McDaniel

Donald McDaniel was born May 17, 1914, the son of J. A. and Nettie McDaniel. He died at 4:00 a. m. Monday, Jan. 9, 1961 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He had lived his entire life in Story County, Donald was married Nov. 25, 1937 to Thelma Grierson and to this union were born two sons, Norman and Joel and two daughters, Anna Marie and Judy.

Besides his wife and children, he is survived by two brothers, Kenneth and Ray, both of Nevada, and five sisters: Mrs. Dearald Dodds, Knoxville, Mrs. Florence Rapp, Nevada, Mrs. Ellen Martin, Panama City, Fla., Mrs. Zella Reitz, Ames and Mrs. Betty Clark, Norwalk, Calif.

Mr. McDaniel was a farmer and motel operator. He was a member of the E.U.B. Church in Nevada.

Services

Services were held for Donald McDaniel at the E.U.B. Church in Nevada, Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 2:00 p. m. with the Rev. Robert Link, assisted by the Rev. E. R. Walter officiating.

Howard Peterson sang two songs, "In the Garden", and "The Old Rugged Cross." He was accompanied by Miss Beeula Settle at the organ.

The flowers were cared for by Mrs. Gladys Overbaugh and Mrs. hazel Williams. The casket bearers were: Harold Baker, Harvey Collins, Phil Overbaugh, William Shickell, Delmar Toot and Irvine Williams. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.
