Former Nevada Girl Died - Marshalltown

Mrs. George Porter, 29, died at a hospital in Marshalltown at 11 o'clock this morning after a surgical operation that she submitted to Tuesday forenoon, for the relief of various complications. The body will be brought to this city this afternoon and funeral arrangements will be made later.

Mrs. Porter was Lotta, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Berka of this city. Since her marriage she had lived the most of th time in Marshalltown where her husband was employed in railroad work. Her health had not been good for some time.

She leaves besides her husband and three children her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Berka of this city, five brothers and three sisters. The brothers are Fred Berka of Colo, Lou Berka of Oakdale and Milo, Jerry and Harry Berka of Nevada. The sisters are Mrs. Mayme V. Soper of Nevada, Mrs. Louise Dean of Columbus, Neb., and Miss Betty Berka of this city.

Her brother Milo had gone down on and early morning train and was with her when she passed away. Later word of her critical condition was received here and Mr. and Mrs. Berka Sr., with B. M. Soper, started for there but arrived too late.
