Charles G. Ray, Jr., 55 of Nevada, died Sunday morning at the Story County Hospital in Nevada.

He had been hospitalized for 10 days.

Ray, who worked in real estate and construction, was born in Chicago and lived in Story County for most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II.

Ray married Dorothy J. Martin in Ames in 1944.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a son, Charles W. Ray of Nevada; two daughters, Mrs. Linda Fry of Castle Point, N.Y., and Mrs. Shelley Rogers of Sioux City, Ia.; two grandchildren, Steven and Michele Ray of Nevada and one brother, Maynard Ray of Ames.

Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, with Pastor Walter E. Lack officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home until Wednesday morning.
