The following is from the Ames Daily Tribune, Ames, IA - dated April 16, 1945:
Paul H. Olson of Story City Dies at Oakdale Sunday
Paul H. Olson, 46, died at the Oakdale Sanitarium Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m., where he had been for the past two and one-half months.
He was born in Chicago, Dec. 9, 1898 and came to Story City with his parents Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Olson, when he was seven years old.
Paul Olson was a graduate of the Story City High school and had attended West Point.
He is survived by his wife and three sons, Wayne, 12, Paul Alan, 9, and Jon Arthur, 2; his parents; and one brother Arthur E. Olson, all of Story City, also one sister, Mrs. August Rosenberger, of Estherville, Ia.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday with prayer service at 1:30 and at the Grace Evangelical Church at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the Story City cemetery.
Rev. W. E. Unrich will be in charge assisted by Rev. C. D. Wendell.
Mr. Olson was a linotype operator for over 30 years. He wsa employed for two years of that time at Naperville, Ill.
For the past 30 years he had been associated with his father who is publisher of the Story City Herald.
