Funeral Rites Sunday Afternoon for Mrs. Kellogg

Funeral rites for Mrs. George H. Kellogg, who died suddenly at her home, 100 Lincoln Way, on Thursday evening, were held on Sunday afternoon at the Nevada Methodist church, with her pastor, Rev. Reynolds C. Murdock in charge.

The church presented a fine setting for the services with the bier literally banked with seasonable flowers. A large concourse of friends and neighbors gathered to pay a final tribute to one whom they had long known and highly respected.

Rev. Murdock offered the prayer, read the scripture, gave the sermon and read the obituary, while Mrs. Garnet Hathaway presided at the organ as accompanist for Mrs. Beulah Freeland, who sang two favorite songs of the deceased.

Pallbearers were from among her associates in the church, namely Dr. S. W. Arthur, Dr. J. C. Hathaway, A. E. Reedholm, D. O. Christy, Ed Carlson and Elmer Wendel.

The committal services at the grave in the Nevada cemetery consisted of the ritualistic rites of Nevada Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, of which she was long an active member.

Among relatives and friend from out of the city who were her for the services were Mrs. Harley McGowan, Ellyn McGowan and Mrs. John Byse, all of Marion; Mrs. Stanley Case, Dundee, Ill; Mrs. Edna Bleasdale, LeMars; Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Willner and daughter Virginia, of Des Moines; Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Oelke, Fort Dodge; Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Robison, Woodward, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Nowlan, State Center; Mr. and Mrs. Leighton Nelts, of State Center; Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Hoppe, Austin, Minn.; and Mr. and Mrs. Vere Bielefelt, Roland.
