Marlowe Tye Nevada, died
Marlowe D. Tye, 44, Nevada, died Saturday afternoon at the Story County Hospital after a long illness.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from Memorial Lutheran Church, Nevada, with the Rev. Harry Mykelbust officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Cemetery.
Born at Lewis, he had been a resident of Nevada for the past 14 years.
Mr. Tye was a mechanic at the Ryerson Implement Co. He was commander of the VFW Post in Nevada and a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; two sons, Kevin Marlowe and Allan Vernon , at home; two daughters Mrs. Steven Prati of Iowa City and Jeanine Marie, at home; his mother, Mrs. Vernon Tye of Griswold; five brothers, Gyle and Jay of Elliott, John of Red Oak, and Elgie and jack os Griswold; and three sisters, Mrs. LaVerne DeWitt of Griswold; Mrs. Floria Arnold of St. Charles, Ill. and Mrs. Suzanne Harter, Greenfield.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
The Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, was in charge of funeral arrangements.
