CARL SANDROCK

Carl John Sandrock, 74, of Nevada, died Monday evening, June 7, 1982 at Methodist Hospital, Des Moines.

He was born July 8, 1907 in Ross, Iowa, the son of John and Mary Kelley Sandrock. He attended the Dedham schools. On March 4, 1935 he married Vera Hitchings. She died March 20, 1974. On August 4, 1974, he married Opal Ankenbauer.

Mr. Sandrock moved to Nevada in 1933. He drove a truck for Des Moines Transport and United Buckingham Trucking, retiring after 35 years. He then worked at the Nevada Liquor Store as a clerk for 12 years.

He was a member of the Nevada Christian Church.

Mr. Sandrock is survived by his wife, Opal; a son, Merle Duane Sandrock of Ankeny; two daughters, Janice Burton of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Lena Sandrock of Hibbing, Minn.; three stepchildren, Leola Jane Wolf, Pocahontas, Iowa, William Ankenbauer, Churdan, Iowa, and Zolabel Erickson, Algona, Iowa; a sister, Eleanor Hemen of Carroll; 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas, in 1970 and a brother, Forrest.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 11 at the Nevada Christian Church, with Pastor Bill Bass officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Community Cemetery.
