H. Glover Ambrose
Nov. 26, 1921 to July 29, 1994H. Glover Ambrose, 72, of Nevada, died of cranial hemorrhage at Grand Avenue Care Center in Ames.
He was born to Harry and Stella (Glover) Ambrose and has been a life-long resident of Nevada. He was owner of Ambrose Clothing Store and Gift Gallery in Nevada, and continued in business with an antique and refinishing shop until his retirement in 1993.
Ambrose married Jennifer Burger on December 23, 1984. Memberships included Nevada Rotary, First United Methodist Church and Nevada Fine Arts.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer; two sons, Mark M. and Craig Ambrose of Nevada; one grandchild, Emily Ambrose; one stepdaughter, Cindy Quenzer of Alabama; and two sisters, Harriette Kinsey of Nevada and Shirley Hammond of Charlottesville, Va.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 2, at First United Methodist Church with Pastor James W. King officiating. Burial was in Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Chet Ryan Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
