IRVING W. "RED" ERICKSON
Irving W. "Red" Erickson, 73, of Nevada IA, died Friday, May 22, 1987 at Story County Hospital in Nevada.
He was born April 10, 1914 at Ames IA to Ingval E. Erickson and Anna S. Houge.
He was married to Marjorie Chase July 26, 1934 at Lehigh IA. They moved to Nevada from Ames in 1940.
In 1950, Mr. Erickson started Erickson Appliance TV and Furniture Store in Nevada.
He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, Nevada Masonic Lodge No. 99, Za Ga Zig Shrine and was a member of East Story County American Red Cross.
A Masonic service was held at 8 p.m. Monday, May 25, at 8 p.m. Monday, May 25, at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, 5th St. and Lincoln Hwy., Nevada.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 1987, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada with Pastor Fred Chaffee officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery, Nevada.
Mr. Erickson's survivors include his wife, Marjorie; a son, Scott Erickson of Winthrup MA; a daughter, Kaye Myers of Webster City IA; three brothers, Richard E. Erickson of Apache Junction AZ, John Erickson of Reseda CA, and Wayne Erickson of Aledo IL; a sister, Dorothy Foshe of Des Moines IA, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Wendell Erickson in 1980; four brothers, Orville, Vernon, Gerald and Audrey, and four sisters, Irene McElyea, Alice Peterson, Ruth Jones and Lulu Kirchoff.
