EVELYN DOROTHY SNYDER

Evelyn Dorothy Snyder, 81, of 715 F Ave., Nevada IA died Tuesday, June 7, 1988 at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames IA.

Death was due to cancer. She had bee in ill health the past seven years.

She was born at Plainfield VT on April 2, 1907, to John and Beta (Anderson) Newberg.

She had been a resident of Nevada since 1933 (55 years.)

She was married to Marvin L. (Curly) Snyder on April 10, 1932, at the Stratford IA Baptist Church. He died July 3, 1986.

Survivors include two sons, Rodney L. of Brooklyn Center MN and Michael L. of Portland ME; seven grandsons, Norman of St. Paul MN, Todd of New York City NY, Scott of Bend OR, Shannon and Steve of Ankeny IA, David of South Portland ME and Philwood of Ames, one sister, Ella Mitchell of Stratford; one brother, Robert Newberg of Salt Lake City UT, and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, four brothers, two half sisters, two half brothers, and her husband.

Mrs. Snyder retired as an employee of Donnelley Marketing in Nevada after working there 18 years.

She was a member of Nevada United Methodist Church. She was a volunteer Story County Hospital worker.

Funeral services will be held from the Nevada United Methodist Church Friday, June 10, at 11 a.m. with Rev. William Ballard officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery at Nevada.

Friends were invited to call at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 5th St. and G Ave., Nevada, Thursday evening, June 9, from 6:30-8:30 where the family met friends.
