MARVIN L. SNYDER
Marvin L. (Curley) Snyder, 81, of 815 F Ave., Nevada IA died Thursday, July 3, 1986, at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames IA.
He had been ill since March 1984. Death was attributed to kidney failure.
Mr. Snyder was born Sept. 21, 1904, at Alden IA to Andrew and Emma Snyder. He had been a resident of Nevada the past 53 years.
He was married to Evelyn Newberg April 10, 1932, at Stratford IA.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; two sons, Rodney of Brooklyn Center MN and Michael of South Portland ME; seven grandsons; three brothers, Elmer of Seattle WA, Everett of Boone IA and Kermit of Bryan TX, and two sisters, Mildred Hawthorne of Canon City CO and Maxine Miller of Sun City West AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Mr. Snyder had been an employee of the former McGrath Furniture Store and manager of National Foods.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church and a former member of Nevada Rotary Club. He was active as a church board member and was a founder of the Nevada Senior Citizens Center.
Funeral services were held from the Nevada United Methodist Church Monday, July 7, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. William Ballard officiating. Burial was in Nevada Cemetery.
Chet Ryan Mortuary, 5th St. and G Ave., Nevada, was in charge of funeral arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church or the American Kidney Foundation.
