Forrest Kitchen

Forrest Kitchen, 81, of Nevada, died Friday, march 14, at Story County Hospital in Nevada.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Memorial Lutheran Church, with Pastor John Chadwick officiating. Burial followed in the Nevada Cemetery.

he was born Oct. 21, 1898 in Iowa Center, Iowa, the son of Louis and Jenny Benethumn Kitchen, and attended rural school near Nevada. On Feb. 3, 1928, he married Imogene Stiegelmeier in Nevada.

The couple farmed in the Iowa Center community until 1953, when they moved to Nevada. Kitchen sold seed corn and was employed by Wilder Grain Co. before retiring in 1965. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Imogene; a son, Dean of Gilbert; two daughters, Mrs. David (Beverly) Renfeldt of Ames and Mrs. Marvin (Kathlee) Davis of Ames; one brother, Cecil Kitchen of Mingo; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Adams of Maxwell, Mrs. Kenneth (Beulah) Johnson of Nevada, and Mrs. Alice Beard of Nevada; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Theodore, and two sisters, Vera Osbern and Ina Kitchen.
