Funeral Services Here on Saturday for Mrs. Julia Stevens

Funeral rites for Mrs. Julia Stevens, 86, who passed away at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames Thursday afternoon, will be held at the Morfoot Funeral Home in Nevada Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, after which burial will be in the Nevada cemetery by the side of her husband the last Geo. Stevens, who died probably 50 years ago. The service will be in charge of Rev. Reynolds C. Murdock of the Methodist Church.

Mrs. Stevens was the last of the three sisters of the late James Blackman of Nevada, the others being Mrs. Jennie Allen, who died in Ames a few years ago and Mrs. Ella Jayne who died at Eldora.

Mr. and Mrs. Stevens had lived a Rhodes during their married life and childless she continued to make that Marshall county village her home and was only removed to the hospital at Ames by her illness about seven weeks ago.

Mrs. Stevens was known in Nevada as a sister of the late James Blackman and Mrs. Ira Allen and leaves one nephew and four nieces living in Nevada and Mrs. Belle Frazier, Mrs. Georgia Doggett and Mrs. Blanche Gilchrist of Ames.

She was a native of New York and came out to Iowa with her family as a young girl and lived in Nevada before marrying George Stevens.
