Sudden Death of Mrs. Turkington Wednesday Evening

Mrs. Helen Turkington, who was 84 years old on August 2, died at the Story county home here Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock.

The body is now at the Morfoot Funeral Home, where it may be viewed by friends Friday afternoon and evening and burial will be in the Nevada cemetery Saturday afternoon, following private funeral services at the home of her son, Ernest Turkington and family at 2 o'clock.

Mrs. Turkingson had been an invalid much of the time for past several years.

Helen Stewart Bailey was a native of Asbury, N. J., but when a young girl moved with her people to Bristol, Pa., where she grew to young womanhood and met Mr. Turkington. In September, 1900, accompanied by a brother, she came out to Iowa and met Mr. Turkington in Des Moines, where they were married.

The immediately settled on a farm in Richland township north of Fernald, where they remained for year or so and then moved to Johnson's Grove neighborhood, where they lived until moving to a small farm just north of Nevada wher ethey lived until they retired and moved into town, where Mr. Turkington died.

One child was born to Mr. and Mrs. Turkington--Ernest Turkington, who, with his family, lives on the old homestead in the north edge of Nevada.

She leaves besides the son and wife, three grandsons, Donald, Malcomb and Harry Turkington. In her death, the last of the four sisters and one brother has been deceased.

Mr. and Mrs. Turkington were both active members of the Methodist church, and were people of the finest character, such as will long be most kindly remembered by their family and friends.
