Florence M. "Pat" Clayberg
May 11, 1924-June 29, 1998

Florence M. "Pat" Clayberg, 74, of Nevada, died from complications of a stroke Monday at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada, where she had been a resident since 1995. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Chet Ryan Mortuary, with the Rev. Howdie Burnett officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Florence M. Clayberg was born in Roland, the daughter of Robert and Greta (Huddleston) Burnett. She graduated from McCallsburg High School and was lifelong resident of Story County. On Nov. 15, 1942, she married Richard D. Claybert in Pinceton, Mo. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Methodist Church in Ames. She enjoyed making kringla, bowling camping and fishing.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia "Trish" Swanson of Creston, two sons, Rick Clayberg of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mike Clayberg of Marshalltown; one sister, Dorothy Matheason of Story City; three brothers, Robert, George and Howard Burnett of Nevada, and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister.

Visitation is from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 4 to 6, at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.

A memorial fund has been established.
