HESTER STEVENSON

Hester Belle Stevenson, 79, Zearing, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1982 at Colonial Manor in Zearing, where she had lived the past seven years.

She was born Oct. 10, 1903 in Boone County, the daughter of George W. and Martha Ann Hickman Dial, and attended the North Grant and Nevada schools. When she was an infant her family moved near Nevada.

On March 23, 1921, she married Marion C. Stevenson at her parents' home. The couple farmed most of their lives near Fernald, until retiring to Nevada in 1967.

Mrs. Stevenson was a member of the Nevada Christian Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Ann Schnormeier of Ames and Mary Elizabeth Boston of Robstown, Tex.; a sister, Elsie Maudlin of Fort Dodge; seven grandchildren, then great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, in 1969, a daughter, Ethel Burnett, in 1975, three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at the Ryan Funeral Home, with Rev. T. Dale Brumback officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

The family will meet friends Wednesday evening at the Ryan Funeral Home.
