M. C. Stevenson rites Wednesday
Marion C. Stevenson, 73, Nevada, died Monday afternoon [August 25, 1969] at Story County Hospital where he had been a patient for several weeks.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 1:30 p.m. from the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Robert Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
Born Nov. 18, 1895 in Hardin County, he moved to Story County as an infant, and had been a lifetime resident here.
He was a member of the Quaker Church and later attended the Johnson Grace Methodist Church. he was World War I veteran and belonged to the American Legion and was currently commander of Barracks 1195.
Survivors include his wife, Hester; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Burnett of Nevada, Mrs. Dorothy Schnormeier, 19814 Arthur Circle, and Mrs. Mary Boston of Corpus Christi, Tex.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Glen; a brother, W. A. Stevenson and sister, Lydia Black.
