Everett Fenton Taylor

Everett Fenton Taylor, 70, of Nevada, died Sunday, April 27, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

He was born June 18, 1909, in Story County, the son of James and Mabel Wilcox Taylor.

He was educated in the Nevada schools and lived most of his life in Nevada with the exception of one year in Washington, D.C. He was employed as a machinist at Iowa State University, and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

On July 8, 1930, he married Elaine McAloon.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Max (Janet) Sylvester of Webster City and Mrs. Bill (Linda) Shickell of Nevada, 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elaine, in 1975; a daughter, Beverly Gerlach in 1979; a brother, Arthur Taylor and a sister, Pauline Hammond.

Wake services will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada, with Fr. Franz Loberg officiating. Burial will follow at the Nevada Cemetery.
