Funeral services for Geroge W. Day will be Monday, July 9 at 2 p.m. at the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada, with Rev. James N. Louk officiating. Masonic services will also be held Sunday evening at 8 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home.

Day, 76, of Roland, died Friday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Born Jan. 20, 1902 in Colo to George W. and Cornelia Rapp Day, he married Margaret Christian Oct. 15, 1973 in Colo.

Day was a retired engineer for the Rock Island Railroad. He was also a member of Nevada Masonic Lodge No. 99 and was a Shriner.

Survivors include his wife Margaret of Roland; one daughter, Alice Rienler of Sumner, Ia.; three step caughters, Linda Koenig of Long Island, N.Y., Norma Elwick of Ames and Paula Sampson of Story City; one sister, Ruth Morris of Fayette, N.C. and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one half brother, one sister and two half sisters.
