D. V. Jordan died today

D. V. Jordan, 77, Nevada, died about 2 a.m. Tuesday at the Story County Hospital.

Born in Chelsea the son of Josiah and Mary Jordan, he was a longtime resident of Story County. he was a farmer and a railroad worker.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Helen Groomes, Sr., Nevada and Mrs. Bonnie Adriance, Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, George, Huxley, and Harry, Ames, and a sister, Mrs. Cora Durham, Oskaloosa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida, in March, 1965 and by three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday from the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. M. C. Shupe, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Ryan Funeral Home until time for services.
