Grace Adelaide Kirk
Sept. 18, 1902 to Oct. 22, 1998

Grace Adelaide Kirk, 96, of Nevada, died from complications of a stroke Thursday, Oct. 22 at Story County Hospital in Nevada.

Kirk was born Sept. 18, 1902, in Ellwood City, Pa., to Samuel James and Novella Ann (Cook) Buck. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Union College in Lincoln, Neb., and a second bachelor of arts degree in Vocal Music from Emanuel Missionary College in Berrien Springs, Mich.

She married Otho Clarence Kirk on August 7, 1932, in Cedar Lake, Mich., and they moved to Nevada in 1941.

Kirk taught music in various Adventist schools in Michigan, Nebraska, Illinois and Iowa. She also taught piano privately for many years in Nevada. Kirk was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Nevada and led various choirs in the Adventist Churches and in the First United Methodist Church in Nevada. She played the piano for various senior groups.

Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Kirk Badiere of Toronto; three grandchildren, Eric (and Dorata) Kirk Badiere of Warsaw, Poland, Daniel Noel Badiere and Cathia Anne Badiere, both of Toronto.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 9, 1974; a sister, Elsie Buck Gilman; and four brothers, Edwin, Herman, Mont and Ira Buck.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Nevada with the Rev. Edwin Buck officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Arrangements were made by Chet Ryan Mortuary of Nevada.
