Funeral Services for Mrs. Boardman Held on Friday

Funeral services for Mrs. W. K. Boardman, 82, for over sixty years a resident of Nevada, who died at Los Angeles, California, early Tuesday*, were held from the home of her son Frank M. Boardman and wife, Friday afternoon.

The body had arrived here, accompanied by the daughter Mrs. Lois Nichols, over the North Western at 1:07 and was taken directly to the home where she had raised her family and spent the majority of the years of her life and from which home her husband, William K. Boardman, was buried in 1910.

The large home was well filled with member os the family and old neighbors and friends of her three score years residence in Nevada.

The service, a brief, ye impressive one was in charge of Rev. Joseph M. Kennedy, pastor of Central Presbyterian church of which deceased had been a member since 1892.

Pall bearers were C. A. Batman, Ray W. Bodger, H. W. Dana, Fred E. Hensen, Dr. T. E. Williams and C. F. Wilson.

The floral offerings were very beautiful and testified in a tender manner of the high love and esteem in which this pioneer woman was held in Nevada.

The following brief life sketch of the deceased was read by her pastor during the service:

"Addie H. Henningsen was born at Sabula, Iowa, on January 6th, 1857 and from there moved to Lyons (now Clinton) in 1865. She attended the public schools of Lyons and later, in August of 1877, was married to Mr. William K. Boardman.

"The Boardmans moved to Nevada in the fall of 1877 and since that time many of her family interests have been in the Nevada community. Two children were born to them, Frank M. in 1878, and Lois K. in 1887. The death of Mr. Boardman occurred in 1910 and since that time Mrs. Boardman had made her home with her son Frank in Nevada and with her daughter, Mrs. Harold Nichols, in Los Angeles, Calif.

"Two sisters, Hattie and Louise, preceded her in death. She is survived by her youngest sister, Mrs. Emily Brayton, of Clinton, Iowa by her son and daughter, and by a number of other near relatives.

"Mrs. Boardman united with Central Presbyterian church on April 17, 1892 and since that time has maintained a loyal and helpful interest in the work of her church. She was long an active member in both the Missionary and the Aid societies and found satisfaction in both the local work and the world interest of her church.

"Mrs. Boardman was a member of the local chapter of P. E. O. and during her long residence in the city belonged to many other societies and organizations. Her life and her personal qualities will be long remembered by her many friends and loved ones.
