Margaret J. Crisp
Oct. 2, 1912 to Dec. 12, 1990

Margaret Jane "Peg" Crisp, 78, of Ames died at Mary Greeley medical Center in Ames of cancer.

She was born in Nevada the Emmett S. and Anna Fay (Lockridge) Armstrong. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1931 and from Iowa State University in 1935. She taught school in Latimer, Geneva and Independence school district, and was employed by Marshall Fields fo Chicago, Ill., and Lansburg Brothers of Washington, D.C. She was also an administrative assistant for Collegiate Manufacturing Co. in Ames, retiring in 1986. She held membership in Nevada Central Presbyterian Church, Ames Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club, Chapter K.R.-P.E.O., Ames Soroptimist International and ISU Alumni Association.

Survivors include one brother, George Armstrong of Perry, four sisters, Dorothy Schultz of Nevada, Juliet Armstrong of Des Moines, and Jean Larson and Lydia Adams, both of Ames; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Visitation was held Dec. 14 at Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Services were held Dec. 15 at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Montgomery of United Church of Christ officiating. Burial was in Nevada Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the William R. Bliss Cancer Endowment Fund or Homeward.
