MABEL ANNE MENZEL

Mabel Anne Menzel, 94, of 412 I Avenue, died Wednesday, July 16, 1986 at Story County Hospital, Nevada, after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Menzel was born January 15, 1892 to L.C. (Lewis) and Emma Rierson in Story County and resided her all her life. She lived on the farm started more than one hundred years ago when her grandfather, a Norwegian immigrant, came to the Nevada area in a covered wagon and settled on a farm six miles north of Nevada. She lived there for nineteen years with her family until it was sold in 1978.

Survivors include her sister Louise Menzel of Nevada; Lawrence Ryerson of Mesa, AR and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be at the United Methodist Church, where she was a member, Saturday, July 19, 1986 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bill Ballard officiating. Casket bearers will be Bernell Hagen, Harold Huff, B. Dean Olson, Jeffrey Rasmusson, Dale Rierson and John Sorem. Burial will be in Nevada cemetery.

Friends are invited to call at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 5th and G Avenue in Nevada from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, July 18.
