Bert Thompson services set

STORY CITY -- Bert O. Thompson, 80, Roland, died at 7 a.m. today at Story City Memorial Hospital.

Born in Hamilton County, Mr. Thompson operated a farm near Story City until he retired and moved to Roland in 1947.

He is survived by his wife, Ida; a son, James, Story City; five daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Lewis and Mrs. Evelyn Johnson, both of Des Moines, Mrs. Marjorie Iesentraut, Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Bettie Ruebel, Allensberg, Wash., and Mrs. Oral Mack, Farnhamville; four brothers, Lewis and Arthur, both of Roland, Levi of Williams and Martin of Elmore, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Hove, also of Elmore; 18 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from Salem Lutheran Church, Roland, with the Rev. Everett Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Roland Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Soderstrum Funeral Home, Roland, until Thursday noon.
