Funeral Service For Mrs. Peterman Held Tuesday

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Peterman was held from the Ryan Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Hugh Guy officiating.

The casket bearers were Lyle Farrington, Bert Vinsel, F. S. Tarman, Chas. Knight and Lee Cook.

Burial was made in the Nevada cemetery.

Obiturary

Alice Victoria Lewis was born in Jones County, Iowa, Dec. 5, 1866 and died at her home in Nevada at 513 6th St., Sunday, June 13, 1950, being 83 years, 5 months and 13 days old. She was one of a family of four children. Two sisters, Cora and Sadie, preceded her in death. Her brother Edward Lewis lives at Brayton in western Iowa. he and his wife and two sons, Harold and Edward, Jr. were here. Another nephew, Wm. Schwerm from Ames was also present at the funeral.

She spent most of her childhood in Jones county and Atlantic and Exira, Iowa.

In 1899, she was married to Mr. Sol Peterman. In the year 1910 they adopted a boy, who passed away the same year. Then they adopted a girl who grew up as their daughter. Mrs. Peterman was an active member of the W.R.C., Social Hour Club, and the local Christian Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter, Mrs. Irene Moore and husband, Wm. Moore and their four children, grandchildren to Mrs. Peterman. They are Mrs. Norma Way, Maxine, Larry and Kay Moore. Also one great granddaughter, Pamela Way, all of Volga, Iowa. Besides the brother and the nephews mentioned, she leaves other more distant relatives, friends and neighbors who ill miss her a great deal. Her husband, Sol Peterman, passed away Feb. 21, 1948.
