Solomon Peterman was born December 8, 1861 at Harrisburg, Pa., and passed away at the Story County home near Nevada, Iowa at 7:00 a.m. Monday, February 23, 1948 after an illness of 2 years, having had a stroke at that time. He was 86 years, 2 months and 14 days old.

He came to Iowa in the days of his youth. He became a member of the Christian church at Woodward while living there he retained his church membership at Woodward.

He was married to Miss Alice Lewis at Exira, Iowa on October 30, 1887. Mr. Peterman was a barber at Exira then.

Mr. and Mrs. Peterman came to Nevada, Iowa about 38 years ago, and he barbered here for many years, until his health failed him.

Mr. Peterman was a kind old gentleman and liked by many whom he met during the years he lived here. He lived to a ripe old age, and having been sick so long death was a blessed release for him.

He leaves his wife, one daughter, Irene, Mrs. Wm. Moore of Volga City and family, his nephew Carl Peterman and wife of Oelwein. Mr. Peterman had four grandchildren to survive him. A son passed away in infancy.

Besides the daughter and family and his wife, he leaves a great number of friends who shall miss him.
