Crystal Evelyn Ostrich
March 6, 1910 to July 1, 2001

Crystal Evelyn Ostrich, 91, of Ames, formerly of Nevada, died Sunday, July 1, at Mary Greeley Medical Center of a heart ailment.

She was born March 6, 1910, in Madrid to Nels and Lulu (Fields) Johnson. She married Charles "Chuck" Ostrich on July 2, 1932, in Nevada. She was a member of the Ankeny United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Robert (and Toots) of Ames and Gary (and Lori) of Lisbon; a daughter, Marilyn (and Mark) Hersh of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Her husband on Oct. 16, 1989; her parents, two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 6, at the United Methodist Church in Nevada with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery, The Bacon Funeral Home, Nevada, handled arrangements.
