Lafe Beal, Nevada, died
Lafe Beal, 58, Nevada, died Aug. 6 at the Story County Hospital where he had been a patient for the past four weeks.
Born near Colo, he was a lifelong resident of Story County. He was employed by the Iowa State Highway Commission.
Funeral services were Friday at 2 p.m. from the United Methodist Church, Nevada, with the Revs. Azel Smith and Robert Baker officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Cemetery.
Mr. Beal is survived by his wife, Pauline; his mother, Mrs. Carrie Spencer, Nevada; a daughter, Mrs. Max Whittaker, Nevada; five brothers, Harold, Fernald; and Jimmy, Howard, Harry and Herman, all of Nevada; three sisters, Mrs. Willard Dunahoo and Mrs. Lloyd Dunahoo, both of Zearing; and Mrs. Richard W. Erickson, Gladstone, Mich.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, a brother and a grandson.
