LEO MOSER

Leo Moser, 91, of 609 Luther Dr., Ames IA, died Sunday, March 20, 1988, at Riverside Manor in Ames of respiratory failure.

He was born in Wayne County near Humeston IA on June 18, 1896. He was married to Carrie M. (Feight) Moser Feb. 22, 1922, near Milo IA.

Funeral services were Wednesday, March 23, at 1:30 p.m. from Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Burial was in Nevada Cemetery, Nevada IA. Pastor Gerald Lamotte officiated.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie Moser, of Ames; four daughters, Mildred Lange of Ames, Doris Olson of Ames, Marjorie Johnson of Marshalltown IA, and Helen Black of Nevada IA; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Moser of Nevada; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Moser and Emma Krouch; a brother, Ernest; a son, Merle, in 1948, and a great grandson, Shane, in 1978.

Mr. Moser was educated in Humeston and after his marriage farmed near Humeston until 1935 when he moved to Story County. He farmed near Nevada and Ames until his retirement in 1961 and then moved to Ames in 1969. He had been a resident of Riverside Manor since April, 1982.

His memberships included the First United Methodist Church, Ames Golden Age Club, and he had been secretary of North Grant School Board.

Visitation was held from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames, with family greeting friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

A memorial fund has been established for Alzheimer's Research.
