Virginia Maxine Moser
Feb. 12, 1923-!ug. 3, 1998Virginia Maxine Moser, 75, of Nevada, died of pancreatic cancer Monday at her home. The body has bee cremated and memorial services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, with the Rev. Ellen C. Taube officiating. Burial will follow in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
Virginia Maxine Moser was born in Richland Township to Leslie and Maude (Conder) Toot. She graduated from Fernald High School and from Waldorf College in Forest City. On Nov. 24, 1945, she married Merle R. Moser at Fernald Lutheran Church. She was a lifelong resident of Story County and managed the family farm until she retired in 1970. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church and ODO Club, and was a 4-H leader. She enjoyed sewing, reading, friends and family, church, flowers, birds and dogs.
Survivors include one son, Steven Moser of Nevada; one daughter, Carol Klinger of Roundup, Mont.; one brother, Delmar Toot of Nevada; two sisters, Harriet Jesse of Orlando, Fla., and Frances Knaphus of McCallsburg; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 tonight at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for Homeward Hospice of Ames or Memorial Lutheran Church.
