Theda Philpot, 100, of Webster City, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 17th at Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. Burial will be in the Nevada Memorial Cemetery in Nevada.

Theda Marie Crain daughter of Hillis and Jennie (Griffith) Crain was born November 3, 1910 at Hubbard, IA. She received her education from the Zearing school system. Theda received her teacher's certificate from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She married Rolland Philpot on April 5, 1936. The couple resided in the Story County area. She worked for R.H. Donnelly for 30 years. Mr. Philpot died in 1963. She moved to Webster City in 1992.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert (Lola) Philpot of Denver, CO and Richard (Rena) Philpot of Council Bluffs; 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rolland; both parents, granddaughter, Stephanie; and two brothers Eldon and Virgil Crain.
