June Virginia Kasischke was born on March 7, 1922, near Fernald, IA. She was born the daughter of Alvin and Elva (Elliott) Schuler.

June graduated from Fernald High School in 1940. She then attended business college in Chillicothe, MO.

After college June ventured to Baltimore, MD where she worked for War Department as World War II was starting to heat up. It was in Baltimore where she met a fellow Iowan by the name of Dale Kasischke. They were soon married on November 25, 1942 in Baltimore. And as they say, ‘You can take the girl out of the country....,’ and it wasn’t long and homesickness set in for both June and Dale and they moved back to Iowa in March of 1943. They began farming and raised a family of seven children just west of New Providence. June worked as the school secretary in the New Providence School District for 25 years. They retired into Hubbard in 1989.

June was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. In her day, she was a devoted walker, loved to travel and was a passionate bowler well into her 80’s.

Those thankful for having shared her life include her husband of 71 years, Dale, of Hubbard; three daughters, Alice (Carroll) of Marion, IA, Karen Hay of Winter Springs, FL and Deb (Ron) Hitzel of Oviedo, FL; three sons, Denny of San Diego, CA, Robert of Hubbard and Paul (Jamie) of Pace, FL; 10 grandchildren, Lisa (Jim) Krotz, Josh (Tiffany) and Jake Kasischke, Ericka and Kyle Hay, Tyler (Erica), Tanner and Tia Kasischke, Jaycey and Michael Juehring; 6 great grandchildren, Peyton Krotz, Chloe, Kamron and Trevor Kasischke, Landon Kasischke and Carter Kasischke; one sister Ardis (Jim) Fidler of Chino Valley, AZ; one brother Rex (Sharren) Schuler of Nevada, IA; along with many other relatives and friends.
