Frank Vail Dead; Funeral Sunday; Interment Here
E. F. Vail, 80, died at the State Hospital at Cherokee, Thursday at 11:00 a.m. and the body will be brought to Nevada today for the funeral services and interment.
Mr. Vail for several years a well known farmer of Milford township, had been confined to the hospital at Cherokee the most of the time for past 18 years.
Funeral services will be held at the Morfoot Funeral home here Sunday afternoon at 2:00, after which the body will be laid to rest in the Nevada cemetery. Dr. C. D. Loose will be in charge.
Mr. Vaile was born in Bureau county, Ill. Aug. 28, 1858. there he grew to manhood and was married in 1883 to Miss Huldah Allen. Mr. and Mrs. Vail and their five sons came out to Iowa in 1902, when he purchased a farm in Milford township and there they continued to live until returning and move into Nevada. Later Mr. Vail disposed of the farm and the family home was established at 720 Eighth street and it was here that Mr. Vail's health began to fail him and hospitalization became necessary.
He leaves, besides his wife Mrs. Huldah Vail, five sons. They are Alba Vail ane Howard Vail, both farmers of near Sioux Rapids, Lester Vail and Allen Vail who are with the mother on a farm east of Nevada and Frank Vail, who farms just in the northwest corner of Nevada.
There are also two brothers, Charles V. Vail and Richard R. Vail of Denver, Colorado. Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
Mr. Vail was a man of very fine character, a good farmer, excellent citizen and kind and considerate husband and father.
