Francis Haven "Frank" Kinsman (1881-1951)

Francis Haven Kinsman, son of Thomas H. and Martha "Ingrahm" Kinsman, was born Feb. 20, 1880, at Windom, Minn. His boyhood was spent in several Minnesota towns, his father being a Methodist minister serving a circuit of towns. There were four boys and one girl in the family, the three brothers, George, Bert and Robert and sister Mrs. Edith Hill all survive.

His parents preceded him in death, the father while the family was all at home and mother in June of 1933.

He attended Hamilton university for three years leaving school to enter the Michand Brothers grocery store in St. Paul, where he managed the fruit department until he came to Story county in 1906 where on Aug. 28, 1906, he was united in marriage to Miss Tena Anna Nelson at the home of the bride's parents.

To this union was born three children, Mildred, now Mrs. Lyle McConnell, Evelyn at home and Kenneth who preceded his father in death on Jan. 16, 1934 at the age of 18 years.

Enjoyed Birthday

On Tuesday evening before his death, all the family visited him on the occasion of his 70th birthday and he enjoyed the evening a great deal.

He leaves to mourn his passing, two daughters Mildred and Evelyn, five grandchildren, Terry, Max, Frank, Meredith and Lois McConnell and one great grandchild, John Stephen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry McConnell.

Three brothers, George of Billngs, Mont., Bert of Seattle, Wash., Robert of Denville, N. J., and one sister, Mrs. Edith K. Hill of Selby, S. D., as well as several nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
