Rites set for Alta Karges

Alta M. Karges, 80, Nevada, died about 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the Story County Hospital.

Born in Charles City, Mrs. Karges had been a resident of Nevada for about 50 years.

She was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church, of the American Red Cross, the Nevada Woman's Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, and a Republican committeewoman.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Meribel Karges, Nevada, and a sister, Mrs. Rose Linnell, Charles City.

Mrs. Karges was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, and their son, Robert.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Memorial Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Harry Myklebust officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
