Wilma Jean Reedholm

Wilma Jean "Jeanne" Reedholm, of Burkburnett, passed away peacefully at Evergreen Care Center on Saturday, June 29, 2013.

Jeanne was born in Fairbury, Illinois on March 11, 1922 to Wilma and Clarence Willams. As a child her parents moved to Nevada, Iowa where she met the love of her life, Glenn Reedholm. Following graduation from Nevada High School, her parents moved to Kentucky and soon Glenn joined them, delivering a washing machine to their home. Instead of returning back to Iowa empty handed, he brought back his new bride. Glenn and Jeanne were married April 23, 1942 in Franklin, Kentucky, and celebrated their 70th anniversary last April, 2012.

Following their marriage, Glenn joined the Coast Guard and was stationed in Seattle, Washington. They became the proud parents of an adopted daughter, Margit, in 1946. After WWII ended they returned to Nevada, Iowa where they made their home until 1996, and moved to Burkburnett to be near their daughter and family. Jeanne was a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked by her husband's side at Reedholm Hardware in Nevada, Iowa until the hardware store was sold. Following retirement, she enjoyed cross stitching and playing Bingo whenever "Glenny" took her to play the game, and she was always a winner.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband who died October 31, 2012.

She is survived by her daughter, Margit Bale and son-in-law Don of Burkburnett; four grandchildren, Tracy Flowers of Byers, Angie Robertson and husband John of Burkburnett, Cory Thompson and husband Brent of Randlett, Oklahoma, and John Bale and wife Theresa of Burkburnett; nine great-grandchildren, Chase Robertson and wife Katrina of Hazelton, Pennsylvania, Justin Robertson, Kaitlyn Robertson both of Austin, Braden Flowers of Byers, Lanson Bale, Jaxx Bale, Jayden Bale, Jacob Bale all of Burkburnett, and Skylar Thompson of Randlett, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Nevada, Iowa at the Nevada First United Methodist Church where Glenn and Jeanne were members. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.

For those desiring, memorials may be made to American Hospice, 4210 Kell Blvd. Suite 211, Wichita Falls, TX 76309.

The family wished to sincerely thank the nurses and staff at Evergreen Care Center, and to Kelly Boren, RN of American Hospice.
