J. G. Berka dead at Nevada

Jerry G. Berka, 66, Nevada, died at approximately 11:10 p.m. Wednesday* at Story County Hospital, Nevada.

Mr. Berka was born Feb. 21, 1899, the son of Louis A. and Mary Berka. he had been a Story County resident all his life.

He was a retired postal employee, a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion.

He married Emmeretta Madison, Feb. 1, 1921, in Nevada.

Mr. Berka is survived by his wife; two brothers, Milo, of Lake Alfreo, Fla., and Harry of Waterloo; two sisters, Louise Berka of Iowa City, and Mrs. Joe Erikson of Eldon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be announced by the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada.
