Shope Funeral Held Sunday Afternoon

Funeral services for K. F. Shope, who died here Friday*, were held Sunday afternoon at Bishop's Funeral home, after which the body was taken to Iowa Center for interment, by the side of his wife, who was buried there an few years ago. Rev. Lookingbill was in charge of the services.

Mr. Shorpe was born in Ohio, July 2, 1853 and at the time of his death was 75 years, two months and 22 days.

When he was a child of but three years, his parents moved to Iowa and settled in Indian Creek township of Story county, and this was his home the most of his lifetime.

Mr. Shope was married June 28, 1878* to Miss Julia A. Warrell and to this union four children were born, they being James F. Shope, Dora May Shope, Lillian A. Stillians and Rose Larson. The wife and two daughters Dora May and Lillian preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his death his son James F. of near this sity, the daughter Mrs. Rose Larson of Detroit, a brother in New York and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Shope had been an invalid for the past few years but previous to that time he had lived in Nevada where he worked at his trade, that of a "carpenter" and had many friends in the city who mourn his death. He was an active member of the I. O. O. F. lodge for many years and for a short time was cared for at the Odd Fellows home at Mason City.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: According to vital records, Kossuth Franklin Shope died on 21 September 1928 and was married to Julia Antoinette Worrall on 21 June 1877 in Story County, Iowa.
