Alice Louise Scherer
March 21, 1909 to Dec. 23, 1995

Alice Louise Scherer, 86, of Nevada, died of congestive heart failure on Saturday, Dc. 23, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada where she had been a resident since 1992.

She was born to John and Edith (Hamilton) Hunter on March 21, 1909 in Washington, D.C.

On Nov. 23, 1940, she married Rhodes K. Scherer in Washington, D.C. She had lived in College Park, Md.; and she lived in Nevada for 34 years. She was a homemaker and a former ballet dancer. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Nevada, a member of the bell and regular church choir, a member of the Daughter of the American Revolution and a former member of the Washington National Ballet.

Survivors include her husband, Rhodes K. Scherer of Nevada; one son, Hap Scherer of Nevada, seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 27, at 11 a.m. at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada with Pastor James W. King of First United Methodist Church in Nevada officiating. A private burial was held in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
