RAY DENNY PADELLFORD

Ray Denny Padellford of Centerville, a former Nevada resident, died suddenly on Sunday* at the age of 52.

He was born June 28, 1921 and grew up in Nevada as a boy and young man and worked for the City of Nevada until moving to public employment in several other Iowa communities. At the time of his death he was City Planning Commissioner for the City of Centerville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orrin D. and Myrtle M. Padellford, sisters Evangeline and Evelyn, and brother Harold.

Surviving are his wife, Delvian of Centerville; six sons, Lynn of Pleasantville, Steven and Mark of Des Moines, David, Randall and Marty of Centerville; and two daughters, Susan and Carol of Centerville. Also surviving are two brothers of Ames, and three sisters, Mrs. Ward (Mildred) McClellan of Perry, Mrs. Howard (Viola) Wright of Nevada and Mrs. Emmett (Lucille) Freel of Boone. One grandchild, Troy, also survives.

The body will lie in state at the Johnson Funeral Home in Centerville through Tuesday and will be brought to Nevada on Wednesday morning. Those who wish to view the body may call at Ryan Funeral Home between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Services for Ray D. Padellford will be ehld at the Nevada Christian Church on Wednesday, July 11, at 2:00 p.m. The casket will be opened for viewing after the services. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
