Services Saturday for Palmer L. Brendeland of Nevada

NEVADA -- Services for Palmer L. Brendeland, 70, of 1425 J Ave. will be Saturday, Jan. 24, 2 p.m. at the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. Rev. Walter Lack will officiate with burial in the Nevada Cemetery. Friends may call at Ryan's until noon Saturday. A memorial fund has been established.

Brendeland died Thursday afternoon at his home of a heart attack.

Born July 1, 1905 in Kelley to Peter and Lena Brendeland, he married Iola Sherk in 1926 and has been a resident of Nevada for the past 50 years.

Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Arthur of Bushnell, Fla. and LeRoy of Kelley; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Hutchinson of Backus, Minn. and Mrs. Gladys Legg of Sun City, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services for Palmer Brendeland were held Saturday afternoon, Jan 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Lutheran Church, Nevada with burial in the Nevada Cemetery. Pastor Walter Lack officiated. Richard Lingwall was organist. Special music played by Mr. Lingwall was "In the Garden."

Pall bearers were Wayne Reed, Jack Hutchison, Don Brendeland, Jim Brendeland, Craig Taylor and Robert Klopping.

Lunch was served by the Rachel Circle after the burial.

Palmer Louis Brendeland, the son of Peter and Lena Brendeland, was born in Kelley, Iowa on July 1, 1905. He was baptized and confirmed in the Bethany Lutheran Church in Kelley.

On Sept. 1, 1926 he was united in marriage to Iola Sherk in Nevada, Iowa where he lived the rest of his life. He worked for the Nevada Poultry Co., Tipton Drug and Hach Chemical. He retired in March, 1973. He passed away at his home on Thursday afternoon, January 22.

He is survived by his wife, two sisters: Gladys Leff of Sun City, Arizona, Bertha Hutchison of Backus, Minnesota and two brothers: Art of Bushnell, Florida and LeRoy of Kelley, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
