Robert Bruce Greenwood was born May 22, 1935 to Edward and Martha (Hoepfer) Greenwood in Harvey, North Dakota. Robert served in the United States Army in 1958 and married Joyce Christine Senechal on December 29, 1958 in Minot, North Dakota. He worked as an insurance agent most of his life, retiring in 1998. Robert was a member of American Legion Post #37 and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and spending time with his family. Robert was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed people and truly never met a stranger.
Robert passed away November 20, 2013 at the Madrid Home at 78 years of age.
Robert is survived by his wife, Joyce Greenwood of Canton, Michigan; his sons, Robert B. Greenwood of Ames and Edward Lawrence and his wife Dale Ann Greenwood of Rock Hill, South Carolina; his daughters, Susan Marie and her husband Vance Clark of Canton, Michigan and Ruth Ann Rued of Littleton, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Joshua Warren, Molly Melton, Samuel Warren, Christine Clark, Isabelle Clark, Vivienne Clark and Yvonne Clark; and two great-grandchildren, Carter Melton and Maggie Melton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lawrence Greenwood and Donald Greenwood; and his sister, Jeanne Milas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames.
