Funeral Services Held on Tuesday for Mrs. Lucy Allen
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Lucy Allen, 77, who passed away early Sunday* morning were held from the Morfoot Funeral Home Tuesday at 10 o'clock with the Rev. C. E. Lookingbill in charge of the services.
Committal was in the Nevada cemetery.
The deceased was born in Andulusea, Ill. June 15, 1867, a daughter of Rinna and Hannah Wells. She came to Nevada as a young woman and was married here to Charles Allen. They returned to Illinois where Mr. Allen passed away at Princeton, Ill., a number of years ago.
After the death of the husband and father, Mrs. Allen and family came back to Nevada which place had since been her home. She was preceded in death by the daughter, Ethel Allen.
Mrs. Allen had been a devoted member of Central Presbyterian church for many years and was faithful in attendance at its church services as long as her health permitted it. In his funeral service Rev. Lookingbill paid a high tribute to "Motherhood," and to Mrs. Allen's devotion to her family.
Mrs. Allen is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Genevieve Harvey of Redwood City, Calif., and Mrs. Hazel DeCourey of Los Angeles, Calif. and by one son Claude W. Allen of Ames. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. F. S. Smith of Nevada.
