Marian “Chris” Pringle, 96, died October 27, 2013 at her home in Ames, Iowa. Chris, the daughter of Jens and Sine Christensen was born February 1, 1917 in Thompson, Iowa. Webster City was home and where she graduated high school. She completed a nursing degree in Mason City. Chris and Shel Pringle were married January 16, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York during WWII. Five daughters, Cindy Squire (Ed), Jan Schroeder (Don), Sue Greenfield (Morris), Shelley Hanton, and Peg Ramsey (Marc) were born to this union.

She is survived by nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Chris worked at Hamilton County Hospital, and also for Dr. Ptacek and Dr. Latella in Webster City. She was involved in the Sister Kenny Foundation in Des Moines during the early 50’s. Chris was on a medical team to Belmond in 1966 after a devastating tornado, and worked a medical tent in 1979 when Pope John Paul II was in Des Moines. Chris loved her family, was an avid reader, and enjoyed her needlework.

She was preceded in death by her husband Shel, her daughter Peggy, and her only sibling, Richard Christensen.
